History
*Cannon* Kamui and his twin brother, Subaru are pure-blood vampires. They gained the power of dimensional travel from the witch Yuuko, in exchange for some of Subaru's blood. Prior to that Subaru had also given so of his blood to Seishiro, a Hunter, who they are currently running from.*/Cannon*

*Cannon*The first time Kamui appears in Tsubasa is in Acid Tokyo. This Tokyo is cursed with everlasting acid rain, that only two buildings have withstood. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building and the Tokyo Tower are the only two buildings still standing and the only places with fresh, clean water. Each building houses a group of people, rivals, that will stop at nothing to protect their water. It is later revealed that these buildings stay standing because of Princess Sakura's feather creating a protective barrier around them.
Upon arriving in Acid Tokyo three year before the actual arch, Kamui and Subaru go exploring the underground water supply, drawn there by the power of the feather. Subaru is pulled under into the water by the feather ans before falling into a deep sleep he asks Kamui to wait in Tokyo for him, which of course he does. Soon after, because of his superior fighting abilities, Kamui becomes the leader of the group in the Metropolitan Building.
When they first arrive in Tokyo, Kamui acts exceptionally coldly to Kurogane and Syaoran as he believes they are after the water,when in all honesty Kamui's more worried about his brother in the waters depths. He leaves them alone when he finds out they have no interest in the water or Subaru.
Sakura gains another of her feather upon entering Tokyo when she meets Subaru in a dream as she is asleep when he arrives. Unfortuantly, the moment she take the feather back into her body the barrier protecting the building disappears along with the enormous power that had sucked Subaru into his deep sleep. Kamui had thought that Subaru would immediately awaken, when he doesn't, he thinks his brother has been sucked into Sakura's dream and tries to kill her...
Syaoran arrives just in time. They being fighting and it is revealed that Kamui can read minds. Kamui can tell something is not right about Syaoran however. He can tell that he is an "E", a soulless human replica that is a source of food for beings that live on blood, namely vampires. Kamui believes that Syaoran's blood would give Subaru strength and awaken him. Kamui also recognizes Syaoran's fighting style as being the same as Seishiro's, something he knows for a fact by reading his mind. Kamui thinks Syaoran is Seishiro's "E" because of this and that Syaoran being around means Seishiro will soon follow. His hatred for Seishiro strengthens his resolve to kill Syaoran. He slashes Syaoran's throat and the blood slowly flows into Subaru's cocoon.
Oddly enough though, Syaoran quickly recovers but he is different, stronger. Syaoran has become a completely different person. Kamui easily detects this change but is not quick enough to evade Syaoran's attacks and has his arm torn off.
Due to the large amounts of blood in the water Kamui's already superior healing abilities and heightened even more and Kamui's arm rapidly heals. It is at this moment that Fai appears and the seal in Syaoran's eye starts to fall apart. Using his magic Fai tries to reseal his eye but fails. Instead, Syaoran's seal completely shatters and he eats one of Fai's eyes, source of Fai's magic.
Just at that moment, the another Syaoran(the original one) arrives at this world. The original and other Syaoran fight. The one who has been traveling to collect the feathers is revealed as a clone whose mission is to retrieve the feathers at any cost. However, before the clone was sent on his mission the real Syaoran was able to give the clone his heart before he was completely imprisoned by Fei Wang.
Sakura awakens while the two are fighting and accidentally distracts the real Syaoran so that the clone wins. The clone opens a portal to another universe using the magic he obtained by eating Fai's eye, he leaves Tokyo.At the same time Subaru also awakens.
Fai's injuries are fatal and he is about to die. Kurogane is told by Yuuko there is one way he can be saved, but he will have to make a deal with her. On the same note, the underwater reservoir is destroyed and Subaru feels it's his fault and asks Yuuko for water. Instead of granting both wishes separately she instructs Kurogane to ask for the water as he will be unable to pay the full price for saving Fai. She then tells Subaru to give his blood to Fai which will turn Fai into a vampire and thus save him. Kamui is unhappy with this though. He offers his blood instead of Subaru's as he doesn't want Subaru to give anyone anymore of his blood.
The price Kurogane has to pay for the water is to be Fai's "E" or food. Fai is force fed a mixture of Kamui and Kurogane's blood so that he'd only be able to feed from Kurogane, in other words, Kurogane will be fully responsible for Fai's life.
Soon after, the leader of the group living at Tokyo Tower, Fuuma, arrives with one of Sakura's feathers. He has learnt that the Metropolitan Building has lost its feather and protective barrier and wants to make a deal. He'll give Kamui's group his feather if his group is allowed to move into the building as the Tower's water source is running out. The two groups manage to meet a compromise. They receive enough water from Yuuko to refill their underwater reservoir, the price for which is an egg guarded by a three headed snake which Sakura volunteers to retrieve in Kurogane's stead.
Following their deal, Kamui learns that Fuuma is Seishirou's brother and a treasure hunter working for Yuuko. Kamui gets very angry and defensive at the mention of Seishirou and attacks him, but is overpowered by Fuuma. This makes the normally gentle and calm Subaru furious and he threatens to kill Fuuma if he doesn't let his twin free. Fuuma soon complies.
The twins soon leave after settling everything at Tokyo and seeing Sakura and her companions off */Cannon* and it is as they are traveling from to another world that Kamui is pulled into Higure... |
Worst Nightmare
Kamui stands alone in the darkness. Nobody else is there, just him. It's noisy. Very noisy. Voices call out. Scratch that, the same voice calls multiple times, “I hate you!”, “Get away from me!”, “Leave me alone!”, “I never loved you!”. Subaru, his brother, his dear twin. The vampire boy falls to his knees, sobbing to himself. Willing it to stop, for Subaru to stop. But he doesn't. His voice keeps yelling things at him. Hurtful things, things Subaru knows will pierce his heart. Kamui screams out into the nothingness, crying out his love for his brother. The voice stops and Kamui looks up. There he is. His brother, Subaru. He stares into his eyes and whispers his name still on his knees. “I'm leaving you behind. I'm going with Seishiro.” The pendant around Subaru's neck glows bright. Kamui reaches out desperately for the edge of his brothers cloak. He goes it grasp his hand around it, but it's not there. He's gone, leaving Kamui alone again. He begins to cry again, more than before.
Then he woke up, sweating. His brother safely in the bed beside him. |
